This housewife in Hull seems fairly amused by the ordeal

A prominent sports broadcaster has been rapped over their corporate knuckles for displaying what has been described as a "highly offensive" language.

The emission in question concerned a recent football match between Cambridge United, playing at home, and Northampton Town. Nobody had spotted that the two teams' acronyms were CU and NT - which meant that the four letter word was on the screen for a 100 minutes.

A spokesperson said: "This was an innocent mistake. For real filth all you need to do is watch our highly tasteful programme about pole dancing and wet t-shirts. But funnily enough we never get into trouble about that."

An upcoming charity match where Arsenal are taking on a side comprising players from Brasil and Italy is causing further headaches. Due to limitations on the number of letters possible on a screen, currently the acronyms spell Arse BandIt.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
