Didier Drogba was charged today by the police with criminal damage following the partial demolition of Stamford Bridge, when the Chelsea striker threw his wallet into the stand causing £1m worth of damage.
The act of throwing the wallet caused Drogba to fall back into the Burnley penalty area, however calls for a penalty were refused by the referee who said 'I'm not sure they would have scored anyway, even if I'd awarded it'.
A spokesman for Chelsea said 'We are clamping down on this sort of behaviour and it is a internal matter'.
It is believed that Chelsea have fined Drogba 50p.
A spokesman for the Burnley Supporter Club said, 'Our supporter wouldn't have thrown money on the pitch as he doesn't have two halfpennies to rub together. If this had happened at Turd Moor it would not have caused any noticeable damage'.
