Cristiano Ronaldo, the unsettled Manchester United and Portugal divist, has revealed in a statement through someone who can speak English, that he will serve out the final year of his United contract playing for League Two strugglers Bury FC.
United have regularly used their near-neighbours as a Feeder-Club to give their resevres and up-and-coming stars a run-out against sub-standard opposition. That's enough hyphens for now.
Ronaldo, who returned from Euro 2008 early when Portugal were knocked out by Germany, has been 'stirring things up' at Old Trafford with talk of Real Madrid and 'what he wants' and 'slaves' and so forth, but a month on, and he's still a United player.
Now though, the Portugeezer will travel the short distance to ply his trade at Gigg Lane, against the likes of Rochdale, Dagenham & Redbridge and Chester City.
United manager Alex Ferguson, obviously annoyed by Ronaldo's 'muckraking' antics, said:
"We shoulda gotrida hem after that wenk at the World Cup when he got Rooney sent off. Now 'e's gone to Bury. Et's a poond to a pench o' pegeon shet he'll still be divin' next season tho!"
