After much speculation relating to the transfer of Samir Nasri, Ben Arfa and even rumours of David Villa coming to Arsenal, Arsene Wenger has finally confirmed Albert and Harold Steptoe as his first big name(s) signing of the summer.
Steptoe and Son will be at The Emirates next season after signing for an undisclosed fee (rumoured to be around £75,000 pence).
When asked about this change of tactic, after usually championing unknown young talent, Wenger went on to say
"After last season. We all sat down and had a hard long look at where we went wrong. In the end, the only conclusion everyone agreed on was experience. I feel that having a father and son partnership playing in the same team, alongside the younger lads, will prove fruitful in the upcoming season ahead. The younger lads will learn from Albert and Harold, and, although they have been known to have their ups and downs, we're confident they will be a worthy addition to the Arsenal squad".
When asked how they would get on playing together at The Emirates next season. Harold went on to describe his father as
"a dyed-in-the-wool, fascist, reactionary, squalid little, 'know your place', 'don't rise above yourself', 'don't get out of your hole' - complacent little turd"
Arsenal released a statement refuting the above quote stating 'they merely had a misunderstanding'.
