New Jersey State Troopers stopped the game between the New Jersey Devils and the Pittsburgh Devils moments after the game started. The arrest came from the orders of New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram in response to New Jersey's new "Gang Attire Act." The Act prohibits more than 3 people to wear the same attire because it can constitute as "Belonging to a gang."
When told about the arrests, New Jersey governor Jon Corzine replied, "We have a zero tolerance policy towards gangs and their attire. If any team wants to play sports in New Jersey, they will have to make sure that each player has a different looking uniform with different logos.
Pittsburgh Penguins Chairman Mario Lemieux said that the incident a travesty of law and called the State of New Jersey, "A joke."
