Roger Federer has launched a blistering attack on British tennis player, Andy Murray.
"He is so grumpy and sulky. It just makes him ugly and frankly we don't have room for his kind in the top ten. I mean look at me - I am debonair, smooth and charming. As a result I am now the face of Gillette. Andy just looks like he's been eating razor blades."
Federer was equally cutting about British women's tennis. "You've really never produced a proper babe for some time. I mean Sue Barker was lovely - but how long can you keep rolling her out? You notice Virginia Wade is never allowed in front of the cameras."
Asked whether looks were really the most important aspect about tennis, Federer was emphatic. "Sponsors want a face that can sell - that's what will take our sport forward. Anyone who thinks tennis is just about hitting a ball about a court is in cloud cuckoo land."
Roger Federer is 56.
