AUSTRALIA - A new extreme sport is gaining popularity 'down under'. Based on the medieval sport of knights,'Jousting'
Like it's predecessor it is played with gentleman's rules and good sportsmanship. Usually copious amounts of ale (beer) are consumed before the match,and depending on the outcome, either a party or wake at the end.
The combatants use traditional 'lances' made from sturdy timber,oak being the favourite, and from 300metres charge at each other on high powered motorcycles.
All is taken in good humour, and men and women can and do participate.
It has taken over in popularity from 'croc wrestling' and 'shark biting'.
It is however slightly more expensive.
