TOURISM chiefs have hailed Sunday's Carling Cup final between Chelsea and Arsenal as 'a fantastic advert for British football'.
The final featured scenes of graphic violence as 18 players and both managers scrapped over what seemed to be a minor foul in the second half.
England captain John Terry was also knocked unconscious after getting Arsenal right-back Abou Diaby's boot straight in his mush whilst attempting a diving header.
Three players were sent off in the melee leaving mostly French, Spanish and Africans on the pitch.
And according to experts, this is the direction needed in order to sell British football globally.
FA advertising manager Derek Pipe said: "For years we have been viewed as a nation more concerned with sportsmanship and achievement, but now it's great that this is finally giving way to spectacularly devastating injuries and kicking the f*** out of your opponent if he looks at you funny.
"Even Frank Lampard fancied a bit of pagga, it was great.
"Adebayor threw himself into the scrap, punched three people including one of his team mates and then argued the piss for 20 minutes when he got a red card. If that doesn't appeal to Americans I don't know what will!"
Jose Mourinho immediately responded to the fight by substituting the tame Andrey Shevchenko for the tough youngster Kalou in case it all kicked off again.
One Chelsea fan said after the game: "It was a cracking final. I can definitely see those overweight stupid f***s across the pond getting into football if we can keep this up.
"I thought Sky could have shown a few more replays of Terry getting that boot in his face though.
"Anyway I've got to go back to wherever it is outside of London that I live now so ta-ra."
