Red Sox management and on-field manager and coaches agree that a World Series Championship in 2090 is a worthy goal.
Red Sox die-hard fan Aandy "ILUVVARITEK" Rogers exclaimed at an internet Red Sox rally: "Just do the math ,1918,2004,2090-it's 86 years and the way our team has been playing we may very well make it before then."
A source in the Red Sox front office laid out the plan: "We're looking at about a half-century of rebuilding...that takes us to to about 2060. After that we expect to be out of the cellar for the next decade or two. Then a dozen or so years of mediocre ball but after that hold on to your hats ...We'll be back in contention by 2085. By then we'll be ready to strip those Yankees of their 50 year streak of WS Championships".
