Time magazine has just released their list of most influential people 2017. Amongst the world's most influential creative artists, musicians and political activists is a name unfamiliar with a large number of people around the world. The decision to include former football player turned pundit - Ray Wilkins has universally raised eyebrows. US actress Scarlett Johansson who has been included on the list for the third successive year reacted on twitter by simply saying "who??"
The spoof have spoken exclusively to managing editor of Time magazine Nancy Gibbs who cited one such incident in a recent premier league game between hull city and stoke as the moment she was certain he would have to be included in the list. She explained "Adama Diomande was clean through and completely taken out by by a rash challenge from behind. Ray commented "that sort of challenge has no place in our game". Ms Gibbs recalls "It was so beautifully put".
At the time of the publication of the list, Ray was out walking his dog and was unavailable for comment. Later on he arranged for the media to gather on his driveway where he read out a full statement "I am very pleased to receive this recognition. Thank you".
Well done Ray. Continue to inspire us.
