T.V. coverage of British football, increasingly popular in the U.S has had a surprise boost with a request from the Spanish National Football Manager to hire Gordon Strachan in the capacity of damage limitation consultant after the Spanish team were embarrassingly annihilated.
Strachan was appointed manager of the hugely unsuccessful Scottish national football team in 2013. Scotland suffered defeats to Wales and Serbia in Strachan's first two competitive matches, which ended the Scots' slim chances of qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, making Strachan as famous as Beckham and a sure fire T.V. success.
Plans for Piers Morgan and the other two famous losers to appear on U.S. prime time television are said to be in the final stages of negotiation. Repeated requests for guidance in football management skills to be provided to Spain from humiliated Spanish Prime Minister Mariana Rajoy to the hugely successful International Gibraltar football manager are now being sttended to. "We will certainly try to help them, but there is a long queue" said a spokesperson this morning.
