While the party animals eat, Rio Ferdinand had to go to bed!!

A desolate Hotel, near Wigan, UK: New Years Eve, everybody is getting ready for fireworks and champagne. People are getting ready for the BIG party.

Then there is a desperate 'TWITter' message picked up by all good Samaritans, by a £115,000-a-week Manchester United defender;

'While u guys around the world are out celebrating New Year spare a thought for me please...I'll be in the team hotel sleeping!! #LoveTheGame'.

Immediately, there came back some support to make Rio Ferdianad feel much better with his lot! Comments like;

"Must be a hard life getting paid more in a week than most earn in a year."

"'Will you spare a thought for the rest of the country struggling to make a living while you're on 80k a week?"

"rio spare a thought for me going 2 work at 3am 4 £120..doubt u will! Enjoy youre job"

"Ha! Do me a favour take a pic of yourself in the bath , full of cash....... That might piss them off!!! Lol"

"dnt make me laugh even rio doesnt have enough cash to cover that top lip #vavavavavavavavaavav~voom"

"I'm not your son.. However if you were my dad, u wudnt be going to work for £120. We would be on the golf course"

"maybe you should have kicked a football round when u were younger"

"i did son...then got involved in an accident that broke my knees....still work so i dont scrounge of the state...cheers"

Thankfully all these 'supportive' replies to Rio Ferdinand helped him recover in the desolate Hotel, near Wigan. Next day, Manchester United beat Wigan Athletic FC.

What a wonderful world we live in, that poor people from around the globe, can spend their time sending goodwill messages, to help a £115,000-a-week Manchester United defender.

I hope this good New Years story for 2013, gives strength to all those out there for this coming year.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
