INDIANAPOLIS - Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were at Super Bowl XLVI (46) and they were both ecstatic that for once the focus was not on them but on the football field where the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 to become the Super Bowl Champs.
Justin was wearing a Giants jersey and cap while Selena had on a Patriots jersey and waved a bandanna with the words "Go Pats" inscribed on it.
The couple sat there mesmerized at the sports spectacle oohing and aahing on just about every play. A reporter for Sports Territory Magazine, who just happened to be sitting right behind the young singers, noted that they made full use of the timeouts by getting in some quick moments of smooching.
At one point, Selena was overheard to say that being at the Super Bowl was kind of like being at a Hollywood award show but without all of the inflated egos, the 'all about me' attitudes, and the sprayed on tans.
Justin smiled and added not to forget the tons of tattoos, piercings, and bling bling.
Tango Brisket, the reporter for Sports Territory Magazine said that he noticed that during the entire game not one person had gone up to Bieber or Gomez and asked them for an autograph.
He said that midway through the fourth quarter he leaned over and whispered to Justin, "Isn't it nice for you and your lovely girlfriend to just be able to sit here and enjoy the game without hundreds of people in your face asking for autographs and taking your pictures."
Justin smiled. He turned around and gave Brisket a high five. Selena also smiled and gave the reporter a thumbs up.
Justin then leaned back and remarked to Mr. Brisket that as much as they love their fans, today was all about his New York Giants and Selena's New England Patriots.
FOOTNOTE: After the game as Justin and Selena got up to leave Lucas Oil Stadium he handed the Sports Territory Magazine reporter four front row tickets to his March 17 concert which is being held at the WWW.Dot Coliseum in Cleveland.
