Sources at Datcomp, the US's largest military and science computer manufacturer, have leaked reports of a large-scale blunder at their headquarters in New Mexico.
The latest computer to be built by Datcomp is said to be the world's most expensive. Over the past month, the computer has been lauded continuously by spokespersons at Datcomp and has been featured in many science magazines. The computer was said to have the computational capacity of 12 billion times that of the highest-specification home computer.
However, the leaked information from unknown sources within Datcomp say that the computer had an unfortunate 'switch-on' stutter:
"The computer whirred into life. Now to keep this sucker cool, we hire forty people with those little hand-held fans to stand over the CPUs."
"However, once the BIOS and Windows XP had loaded (about 5 minutes later), it crashed and the word 'bums!' belted out of the speakers. It was terrible. I remember crying."
Datacomp have so far been unable to comment on the leaked report, or that they are using Windows XP.
