Nursing shortages are plaguing hospitals across the world since very few people want to be underpaid, over worked and overtaxed with bothering with annoying sick people.
Signing bonuses, three day work weeks and longer vacations have all ben tried to attract and retain nursing staff, with little success. The Czech republic has come up with a novel idea to reward nurses and inspire recovery in their patients.
Professor of Patient Recovery at Dubcek Medical Hospital and University, Dr Getzem Bitte explained the new idea:
"Ve askeded hoursilves vat do dee noises vant and hous dat supposedly to hilp the pashienz? Titz! Titz vas the antswer. Everybodies soywayed said titz would hilp any and everybodies. So dfats vat we do...we giva titz to every noise dat stay and every men, woman and childe pashienz smiles...oooh! vat nice titz dat noise got...I'se tink I'se fill bitte awreedy!"
