In shocking news today, NASA have admitted that the moon landings were fake, but not because they could not make it to the moon, but because the moon is fake.
"We actually did go to the moon," said Professor Boffin of JPL's San Andreas lab. "But when we got there, we discovered it was a big cardboard cut out, suspended about a mile above the Earth. It only took us three hours to get there. If you think about it, everything suddenly makes sense."
The so-called moon rocks that NASA 'returned' from the moon are from Palo Alto, though Buzz Aldrin did leave the mirror on the moon allowing NASA to track it's position. What is more, close up images of the other moons in the solar system taken by Cassini and Hubble reveal that they are also cardboard cut outs dangling on string, as are the planets themselves.
"It took quite a bit of effort to fake the landings," said Boffin. "That cost more than the original plan itself. For the past forty years, we've not been planning on how to get back to the moon, but trying to fathom out how the moon waxes and wanes when it's only a cardboard cut out, and what exactly is at the other end of the string on which it dangles."
Executives at NASA were quick to dismiss the claims, saying that JPL didn't have a San Andreas lab, as this was a fictitious town in a computer game, and Boffin is a stupid name for a scientist.
