A futuristic plan by NASA to build a base on the Moon which could support up to 3000 people, has been thrown into chaos, after images beamed back to Earth by one of its orbiting satellites clearly showed that a colony of humans was already living there!

The pictures were examined by experts who say the humans appear to be citizens of India.

India launched, what it said was, its first unmanned Moon mission on Monday, but it now seems obvious that this is not true, and that the country has, for some time, been establishing a Lunar Colony.

Early estimates suggest that there could be as many as 50,000 Indian people living on the Moon. One thing certain, is that there is a floodlit cricket ground, as wicket markings can clearly be seen from the satellite images.

The rapid expansion of India is well-documented, as the country grows by more than 500,000 births each and every day. At the current rate of growth, by 2024, India would need to produce more than 60,000 new cricket bats every day to keep up with demand.

Robin Kobbler of the British Space Research Institute, said:

"It makes a change to have 50,000 Indians on the Moon, instead of having to say there are 50,000 Indians in one room."

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
