A study recently published in the journal 'Science Stuff' has shown that we may have less time left than previously thought.
Scientists using historic information have worked out that unless a viable alternative is found all the time in the world will be used up by the year twenty fifteen.
"We always took time for granted, but now that attitude is coming back to kick our teeth out with its steel toe caps." said chief geek, professor Nott In To Du, from the university of Tokyo. "It is now very unlikely that we will be able to create more time before our current supply runs out."
Many people are blaming developing countries such as India and China, for wasting the majority of the time, but statistically the USA is still the biggest waste of time.
To save time people are advised to change there watches to more time friendly barometers and to have their clock set more accurately to avoid waste.
The manufacturers of digital equipment are also being urged to help, by removing the digital displays from their products, but is is unlikely that they will.
The government has also decided to stop three of the faces of Big Ben to be more time efficient.
Is it too late? Or can we really make a difference? Only time will tell, unless it runs out in which case that probably wasn't the best cliche to use.
