Southern California - Workers at a Carlsbad construction site found the remains of a prehistoric mastodon last Tuesday.
"A very exciting find," remarked San Diego Natural History Museum paleontologist Drab Riney. "The remains are in remarkable condition for their age, which we estimate between 120,000 to 220,000 years old."
Apparently, the local chapter of the Republican National Committee had been using the creature's carcass as an advertising billboard over the past two years. Insiders say that it was given to them by the Environmental Protection Agency, when it changed ownership in 2005.
Scientists believe it to be a clear attempt to hide evolutionary theory in favor of creationism.
