Looking to provide an edge for select players of the wildly successful Angry Birds smart phone game, a new bird character known as the "Phoenix" was hidden inside the existing game with special instructions to activate the cheat.

Angry Birds graphic designer Melvin Winger, created the Phoenix to add a more powerful and darker dimension to the game. "I decided to have some fun and create a bird that could help the player get past our trickier levels", says Winger, "but we never made the Phoenix cheat public, because the after effects of deploying the Phoenix could be a little gruesome, ya know".

The antagonist in the Angry Birds story is nothing more than a bevy of little green pigs that laugh at the player if any pig survives a level. On certain more difficult game levels, the player can activate the Phoenix by tapping on certain out of place bricks on the left side of the screen. "That's when the flaming bird appears on your slingshot ya know, and burns through any structure to roast those little oinkers", says Winger.

As news of the cheat were made public, parents of younger players began to object to the
Phoenix, "because my kids don't need to see and hear screaming pigs as they get roasted alive", says concerned parent Latisha Williams. "These are supposed to be kid friendly games, not full of death and destruction".

Winger responded by restating the goal of the game. "So like, you're basically breaking stuff and killing pigs along the way, eh? The Phoenix just makes the whole pig eradication a little more fun".

When asked about the final moments of the game level once the Phoenix was deployed, Winger said, "Yaah, so the birds gathering around the fire for the pig roast was probably a bit over the top, but who doesn't like a good pig roast, eh?"

Winger admitted to being from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
