Forget Ibiza, The Algarve, Barbados, off season Whitley Bay can provide all the ingredients for an unforgettable break.
Arriving on Sunday we took a taxi from Newcastle Airport which by the way isn't at Newcastle, to The Stuffed Dog hotel, unpacking and enjoying a welcome complimentary pint of "Nukie Brown".
Next we decided to carry on drinking in the hotel bar and then staggered out 3 hours later, immediately being asked by a Geordie WTF were we looking at. After a welcoming fight we walked around Whitley Bay which was enjoying a Real Feel windchill corrected -12 degrees and blinding sleet, we went to the hotel and comfy bed.
Monday: Everything was shut due to short 4 week season so walked around the town then went to bed.
Tuesday: Bought a newspaper and some postcatds and a bag of sweets, then watched an old film on the hotel bar T.V.
Wednesday: Went to the post office to post the post cards.
Thursday: Down to the sea front but had to keep back due to the sea crashing all over the town.
Friday: Took a flask of tea to the park and got kicked sensless and mugged by a gang of football hooligans.
Saturday: Went home.
