Spoof Writer, Lady Godiva heard that Ellen Degeneres recently found out that she is distantly related to the British Royal Family. This spurred Lady G. to take a closer look into her own family tree.
To her astonishment she found that she too is distantly related to the Royal Family and is, in fact, 593rd in line for the throne.
Thanks to the World Wide Web, Google and the Mormons, we all have this information, nowadays, at our fingertips.
It would appear that, when the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh made their first visit to Middlesbrough, North East England, in the early 50's, they visited The Princess Alice Pub, Newport Road Middlesbrough. It's on the corner near Cannon Park and remains open to this day.
Lady G's mom was a barmaid in the Princess Alice and, it is said, the Duke took 'a liking' to her - as well as to hundreds of other 'subjects' over the years....and Lady G. arrived 9 months later.
Naturally this was all kept hush, hush in the past, but these days 'Royals' are coming out of the woodwork and from under stones by the dozen.
If you saw a photograph of Lady G. and compared it to a photograph of Princess Ann - you would definitely see the similarities.
Lady G. was born 6 months after Prince Charles and began her life in a modest 2 up, 2 down terraced house, complete with outside 'bog' but no bathroom, in Booth Street, Middlesbrough, sharing a 'back alley' with Cannon Street. (Site of the first 'race riot' in Middlesbrough's history apparently).
Lady G. has contacted the Palace regarding her 'claim' but, at the time of publishing, has not heard back.
More on this as we get it.
