Chile puzzles Bin Laden

Osama Bin Laden sat in his tent puzzled. 'Why did those infidels go miles down into a mine to save people's lives?' he pondered 'surely it is the will of Allah to go down holes in the ground and blow people up.'

As millions were overjoyed at seeing lives saved by amazing feats of engineering and courage Osama was annoyed that this took attention away from the martyrs who had
descended into the depths of London and randomly killed over 50 people and themselves as well. That easily beat 33 from the Chilean mine.

'Why should the people praise the saving of the miners and abhor the heroism of our followers? I must issue at Fatwa denouncing this deliberate insult.'

Meanwhile in Chile the media circus is more or less under control, except for almost trampling down the tent of one waiting family. Not that such an event was worth reporting except by a reporter to the World Service. More reason to give them the chop, perhaps.

It is warming even to old cynics who write for 'Spoof' to see the great achievements in Chile, even with a President climbing onto the miners backs when they have barely seen the light of day. His re-election assured other leaders are wondering if they can pull off a similar trick.

Robert Mugabe thinks he might achieve Life Presidency in Zimbabwe by saving the diamond miners who might be trapped by accident down a mine shaft. Unfortunately he realises they might find conditions down the mine shaft better than those on the surface.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
