Newby Castle - rooms as low as $111 Canadian per night

Tourists are indeed flocking to the Isle of Wight as a result of reading recent articles in the Spoof.

Indeed, hotels are quickly building on additional rooms to keep up with the demand. Some are pitching posh tents on their beautifully manicured lawns to take the 'overflow' of tourists.

Ryde Castle has rooms for as little as $133 per night (I'm not sure whether this is America dollars, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars or whose dollars).

Here is part of their advertising 'spiel':

"On Ryde seafront, this distinctive and grand Victorian building overlooks Ryde Esplanade and Marina. Enjoy a lavish brasserie and bar, open every evening for dinner. The brasserie at Ryde Castle has a warm atmosphere, with a large à la carte menu......."

I'm not too sure about the brassier, I think they should have left that little bit out of their advertising as it seems to be, in my humble opinion, a little bit tacky.

Morrisons have a special on, bacon 69p per lb. but you have to catch the pig first.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
