ICU psychosis is a form of delirium. The patient may lose track of time and place to the extent that he/she may encounter great difficulty in knowing where he/she is. Other symptoms of ICU psychosis include visual hallucinations, paranoia, and agitation. One reason is that the patient's mind cannot properly function when input-output channels, hearing, seeing, touch etc. are clogged for quite some time.
Another way of clogging a person's input-output channels is to put him or her in solitary confinement. In devil-ridden nations, this can simply happens when a young individual merely out of curiosity follows a crowd of demonstrators. Then, out of excitement, honks his horn, or occasionally publishes a blog. After being arrested, the person is put in a secret dungeon, void of light, flooring and toilet for weeks or months. When happened, it could be unequivocally frustrating, traumatic, and in many cases frightening, especially when mock execution is added to the routine tortures.
No wonder if some, in the past, advocated 'That government is best which governs least'. But Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862), in his 'On the Duty of Civil Disobedience' added his own motto: 'That government is best which governs not at all'.
Actually, good people need no government whatsoever, but we all know this is impractical, as the whole world is geared up to provide protection against eminent threats coming from hordes of unleashed criminals. Ironically, when the criminals assume power, they need to emulate law and order, of course, in reverse. Consequently, they need some people on the gallows, and the victims are going to be civil people.
Nevertheless, this process leads us to believe that life is nothing but logical nonsense, deliberately planned and viciously executed which goes back to the first nonsense. For instance:
Having been banished from Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve spent years in caves and gave birth to two boys: Abel and Cain. Cain murdered his gentle brother and ignited the first salvo of treason. In no time, Eve complained to Adam that Cain, whenever he finds an opportunity, jumps on her back. Later, Adam turned limp, and Eve succumbed to Cain's pressure and gave birth to a second Eve for Cain to reproduce.
One day Adam expressed his displeasure at Eve the first by saying, "It was you who listened to the serpent. It was you who ate the forbidden fruit, resulting in our banishment. And again, it was you who teamed up with Cain, the Mother ***."
