A woman in Mansfield, Louisianna, told police that her boyfriend was "acting strange" all day and wandering around a housing development they were visiting and eating a lot of dog food.
"She said he was a regular user of PCP," a hallucinogen, said a DeSoto County sheriff's spokesman.
When deputies checked out Terence Lloyd, 32, they found a vial of PCP, a half-pound of "high grade" marijuana, and some crack cocaine.
Lloyd was found crawling, growling. howling and eating mud.
"He was covered up in mud when he was finally brought in," the spokesman said. "In fact, he had ingested so much mud that he was throwing up mud...and dog food."
When deputies arrived, Lloyd first sprayed a tree and then ran and hid inside an apartment, but was "coaxed" back outside to be arrested by a big dish of Gravy Train.
Mansfield Police say the man is currently being held at a local detention pound, where authorities have confirmed that wardens are keeping a close watch over his behavior from a distance after two were bitten.
