John Lennon (Oct. 9, 1940 - Dec. 8, 1980)

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - December 8, 2008, will mark the 28th anniversary of John Lennon's passing. John, Paul, George, and Ringo (the Beatles) still remain the most famous band of all-time.

Ten Little Known Facts About John Lennon:

1. He hated the G chord and never included it in any of his songs.

2. Most people thought that John's middle name was Winston. It wasn't, his middle name was Marlboro.

3. John's first wife, Cynthia, replaced Ringo Starr on the drums during The Beatles 1962 Scandanavian Tour because Ringo was terrified of fiords, sardines, and smorgasbords.

4. John actually spelled his first name with two 'H's' and two 'N's.': Jhonhn

5. Lennon had a pet midget woodchuck named Sir Chucky, that lived in his guitar case.

6. After he divorced Cynthia and before he married Yoko Ono, John dated the ex-wives of Mick Jagger, Eric Burdon, Rod Stewart, Spencer Davis, Stevie Winwood, and Ed Sullivan.

7. The original title of John's composition 'Norwegian Wood,' was 'Swedish Stick.'

8. In Lennon's eyes, Yoko Ono looked exactly like Marilyn Monroe. But in everyone else's eyes, Yoko Ono looked exactly like...well, Yoko Ono.

9. John's favorite harmonica recently sold at an auction in Berlin, Germany for $9.9 million.

10. Interestingly enough, the next day it was sold to Katie Couric for $11.3 million.

In a related story, Yoko Ono was recently asked by Geraldo Rivera why she had named her pet boa constrictor Paul (after Paul McCartney). Yoko replied that the reason she named her boa constrictor Paul was because, like Paul, it was also left-handed.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
