A common game or a new way to tell the future?

St. Paul, Minnesota (July 7) --- Yesterday I talked to native Minnesotian Ross Walters. He told me all about his interesting life journey. Including his interesting Life, the game, journey.

"Well," he started with a smile, "when I was twelve I played the game Life. It was my first time playing. By the end I had gone through college, become a doctor, married and had three kids, two of which were twins."

Ross played life many times after that but he always ended up with the same results. He didn't even think about it of course. It was just a game.

After high school Ross went to medical school for eight years. After leaving school he soon met Samantha, now his wife, in school and by fate they ended up working at the same clinic. Sam as a nurse and Ross as a pediatrician. Two years later they married and together they currently have two girls, twins, and another little boy on the way.
"I didn't even realized that this corresponded with that game I played so many years ago. That is until the accident."

In the game, a turn before he had his third child, he was robed and had to pay big bucks because he had no insurance. Two weeks ago, with their third child due in just months, they were robbed in real life!

"We had no insurance. Luckily I made the connection with the game and not only got insurance but I now can plan ahead for emergencies. Like I knew that our car would be totaled and I knew that I would get a pay raise. That game told my future clear as day and night," said Ross.

I needed to know more. After all one account does not make it fact and it certainly wouldn't make this newsworthy! So I went straight to the source, Milton Bradley Games Corp. I talked to the companies Publisity Head. Here is what she had to say, "We have been making games for years. Life has been around for over thirty years. When life was created we were in an interesting point of time for our company. People wanted new games like mad. They ate them right up. Then, around the time LIFE was created, the public decided they needed something new and fresh. We came up with LIFE. However we wanted it to sell, so we had the game blessed by a physic and poured some potion into the mix that was used for the game peices. And wham bam the game could tell the future. People ate the game up. They loved the fact that it could tell the future. But after about five years the public had a turn of faith and decided that magic was bad. So we changed the formula for the peices stop having them blessed and changed the cover so that little magic part was taken off and replaced by a wholesome family play LIFE. However some of the old games still exsist and Mr. Walters might have ended up with one."

Can your LIFE game tell you about your real life? It depends. how old is your game?

All that I have to say is I wish that I had thought of LIFE before my own tragic life played out....

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
