The film world was in shock today with the news that Helena Bonham Carter's next project would not be a costume or period drama.
The award winning actress , who has made a career out of playing upper class roles such as Lady Jane Grey, Anne Boleyn and the future Queen Mother in "The King's Speech", is seriously considering a part that will be totally out of character.
"I know its hard to believe, but I am actually looking at a script at the minute that would see me cast as a working class type.
It is a radical departure for me and something that I feel is the right thing for Helena Bonham Carter at this point in her career. I could not respect myself as an actor if I did not consider roles that are totally out of my comfort zone.
I am rather looking forward to this change of direction, but I feel that I must immerse myself completely in the working class environment if I want to do the part justice ".
Shooting is due to begin in April 2015.
