Actress Halle Berry is a believer in the controversial 'one drop' racial segregation theory. This belief is that any one with 'one drop' of black blood in them is black.
"I feel like she's black. I'm black and I'm her mother and I believe in the one-drop theory," Berry said.
Her husband is white and her daughter to all intents and purposes in is a tasteful mocha latte colour.
However passionate Berry is proud of her black heritage; and found it hard to identify with her white mother.
"I identify as a black woman, but I've always had to embrace my mother and the white side of who I am, too.
The Oscar-winner, is facing burn-out as she is fighting a bitter custody battle with her ex-husband Gabriel Aubrey a French-Canadian model.
Halle Berry is proud to be a Black-African as is part of the Black Aristocracy in the USA along with Will Smith and his brood and President Obama who is the most powerful man in the world.
Daughter Nuala however, may one day have to decide for herself which race she identifies with; you could say it is an either 'black' or 'white' issue with no shades in between.
