TV insiders are gearing up for a new ratings war as Sky1 goes up against Channel 5 on Tuesday nights.
C5's popular CSI:Miami and CSI:New York will tonight find themselves in direct competition with two sci-fi blockbusters - the second series of Stargate Universe and a third offering of Fringe.
And C5 insiders are not happy.
"Bastards!" said one. "They knew we had Miami on at 9pm, but they bring out Universe in direct competition. It's not so bad with Finge because New York is repeats.
"But we're not happy. I probably shouldn't tell you this, but some of the lads in scheduling are thinking of going round there to sort it out mano a mano, sort of thing.
"You didn't take that down, did you?"
A Sky1 source said: "Ah, they're always whining, those terrestrial tossers.
"Coming round to sort it out? Ooh... I'm scared. Bring it on. They'll see that us satellite guys are made of tough stuff."
