Why would a 40 year-old man give a fresh-faced boy a £131,000 super-car for his 16th birthday?
That's the question that many are asking, following revelations that 'P-Diddy' Sean Combes, presented baby-faced singer Justin Bieber with a white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder as a birthday present earlier this year.
Some have drawn similarities to Michael Jackson, who similarly befriended children and 'showered them with gifts'(allegedly).
Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, was eager to dispel any unsavoury rumours. 'Oh they're just really good friends. I know it seems unlikely, but they really get on well. They hang out together with the other Sean (Kingston) and play games like 'nude Twister' and 'hide the chipolata'. It all sounds like great fun.'
Jeremy Clarkson, the Top Gear presenter was gushing about the qualities of the Lamborghini. 'It's a fantastic machine', he said 'and I understand that he also got a brand new Range Rover from Usher. That kid must be one hell of a Twister player!'
