Kate has to hear it through the grapevine like everyone else. She is definitely not being considered for the next season of the Bachelorette or any special Bachelorette shows upcoming on ABC. A spokesperson for ABC told Ryan Seacrest this when he (Seacrest) called the show's creator to ask if the rumors of a Gosselin run were true.
"Look, she's an ok person I guess, but we just aren't sure Kate's brand of drama would play well on the Bachelorette, especially when it is unleashed on our unsuspecting bachelors." Seacrest then asked them why they haven't yet told Kate of their decision, since she's been shown in quite a few photos lately holding a single rose and half smiling in a lonely, "I need a man" sort of pose indicating to many that she thinks she's going to get that gig as well.
The spokesperson merely said, "tell ya what, Seacrest, you think you're man enough, you tell her, otherwise, let her keep guessing, we're all safer that way."
