LONDON - Reginald Billingshurst, the director of Coronation Street has announced that Dawn French and her as-of-now-still husband Lenny Henry have both agreed to star in an episode of the popular British series.
Billingshurst said that Henry and French will portray Raywick and Poinsettia Zuppyfaust, a brother and sister who have moved to London from Ipswich.
When reminded that French and Henry are different colors Billingshurst smiled and said, "Ah yes, the fascination of television literary license; tis a splendidly blooming thing innit?"
He added that the Zuppyfausts will strike up a friendship with Enid Crump, who at 91, is the oldest barmaid in the United Kingdom, and most probably the entire world.
The Zuppyfausts will help Enid get through her food poisoning bout which she apparently contacted from accidentally eating a crumpet that had an expiration date of 2007 on the wrapper.
Detective D.C. Glynn will investigate the case to see if maybe Miss Crump had been poisoned by the insanely jealous Betty Preston Turpin Williams, who at 90, is the second oldest barmaid in the U.K. and most likely the world as well.
Detective Glynn will receive a letter from Lyn Fullwood who is serving a prison sentence for her role in the robbery of 37 Felicity & Fulisia Fish & Chips Restaurants in Belgravia, Tooting, Putney, and Limehouse.
Fullwood will tell Detective Glynn that she knows who poisoned Enid and that it was not Betty. She will then reveal to him that the person who put the expired crumpet in Enid's refrigerator was Connie Rathbone, a pigeon breeder who is prone to sleepwalking in the nude.
The Zuppyfausts will later become friends with Harry Butterfield, a poor but brilliant auto mechanic, who has devised a way by which he can alter a normal car engine so that it can get 317 miles to the gallon.
In the Coronation Street episode the hefty Poinsettia will fall in love with Harry Butterfield and Raywick will fall in love with Detective Glynn, but not in a gay way by any means, or stretch of the imagination.
