American Idol contestant, Danny Gokey,auditioned for the role of Robert Downey Jr. in the remake of Downey Jr.'s life called, "The Downey Diaries" which will be directed by, guess who-- Downey Jr. himself.
"Gokey looks and sounds a lot like Downey than we thought he did." says producer George Clooney who once produced a Downey film in 2006 called "A Scanner Darkly".
"I was really impressed at how he managed to act like me. I felt like I was standing in front of a mirror." said Downey, Jr. who later on congratulated Gokey for his debut performance in a film.
"People really say that [Downey] and I look alike. And I have to admit that we really do." confessed the American Idol Top 3 contestant. "I'm so excited to play the part of Mr. Downey Jr.. I think he's a really great actor. It is such a privelege to be working with a legend." Gokey continued.
The film is rumored to be premiered on Winter of 2011. Although Downey has made some plans for an early release.
