Los Angeles, CA - On the eve of his induction into the Grammy Hall Of Fame, Jose Feliciano, famed blind Puerto Rican singer admits he 'hates Christmas and all the trimmings that go with it'.
Mr. Feliciano has been a Christmas fixture on the radio for 40 years, mainly because of his seasonal theme hit tune, "Feliz Navidad". Says Mr. Feliciano, "I hate Christmas and it's all because of that stinking song. Do you realize how many times a year I have to sing that thing? And then I turn the radio on and it's blaring back to me, like some kind of mantra from hell."
Mr. Feliciano confesses that he once had to be hospitalized over the holiday season because the song kept playing through his head, over and over and over again.
"Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad, Felize Navidad...arghhhhhhhh!!!Someone get me a straightjacket and a one way ticket to Bellevue," remarked Mr. Feliciano.
However, once this reporter reminded him that for every Feliz Navidad he sang, he received approximately one half the yearly salary of the average Puerto Rican, he calmed down a bit. Silly twit.
