For the Ukraine has declared that the "marriage" is invalid (3 cheers for the Ukraine!) and because of a little-known human rights treaty between the Ukraine and the European Union, the marriage is no longer valid in the UK either.
So we will be spared the silver, golden and diamond anniversary celebrations and the quavering, 95-year-old rendition of "We've been together now for 40 years" at the renewing of their vows in Westminster Abbey.
But will they return the wedding presents - the world has a right to know!
