Paris Hilton's innovative media experiment of merging Paris Hilton and columnist Matthew Parris has ended in dismal failure.
The original idea was that "Parrris" - as the merged entity came to be called - would fuse heavyweight political commentary with sexy and provovative images. The sucess of the idea was based on both Paris and Parris keeping to their respective roles.
Their agent summed up the problem: "We started well, with some good coverage in The Times and The Washington Post after Parrris's first article about the need for women to be educated in Afghanistan - with some interesting photos of a young, white, western woman being "educated" in quite a provocative way.
"But it all went wrong when Paris started to take over the writing. It was bad enough to be presenting articles about why President Obama is hotter than Gordon Brown - but the last straw was when Matthew Parris went topless."
There is no talk of a career for Matthew Hilton
