Larry Azziz made a solemn vow to eat his hat if pop singer Michael Jackson died before reaching 51, and yesterday he was made stick to that promise during a local hat-eating ceremony.
Watched by dozens of confused spectators, Larry, 68, gobbled down his favourite fez and even attempted to eat his jacket sleeve for good measure too!
"I am a man of my word. I never believed that Jackson would kick the bucket so early. This hat belonged to my father, and before him, his father's father. Eating my hat is not something that I take lightly", he shrugged.
Larry dedicated his bizarre ritual to the fallen idol:
"Michael Jackson was a weird fucker and I know he would appreciate my sacrifice in his name".
