Actor Leslie Nielson says he is sick and tired of people coming up off the streets and asking him, "Mr. McCain, can I have your autograph?"
"This is getting a little ridiculous", stated the actor, famous for his The Naked Gun movies. "At first I told them who I was but after seeing a puzzled look on their pin-headed faces, I've started to sign them, Barack Obama. They just look the same way, puzzled, so I tell them I look different on TV."
Nielson, born in Canada says he's also signed "O.J. Simpson", his fellow actor in three of those movies, and lately, Farrah Fawcett.
"Everyone thinks all I've ever done is comedy. That's not true. I do drama also. It just comes across as comedy."
Surely people didn't think so in "Forbidden Planet" and "The Poseidon Adventure".
"No, I think Ernest Borgnine got all the laughs in that one", stated Nielson.
Nielson then went on and asked if he looked like he's been in a Viet Cong prison for six years?
"Why, no. Shit, I look like I've been there since last week."
Nielson says he'll just have to wait until they forget McCain. Before the McCain identity thing, he said he was usually called, "Peter Graves" and asked if he was really James Arness brother?"
"No, I'm actually his sister. Often stood in for Amanda Blake, Miss Kitty, remember? She claimed to be Robert's brother. Good thing she died before all that shit hit the fan. Speaking of which, here comes another one. Let me just reach back and palm a pile."
