Kiss frontman, Gene Simmonds has said that Shaheen Jafargholi has killed any chances he may have had of a career by admitting to being half-Iranian.
Outspoken Simmonds, who has repeated more times than a cucumber and pepper salad that he believes Adam Lambert has killed his career by admitting that he is gay, spoke after 12 year old Shaheen appeared on 'Larry King Live'. King asked Shaheen about the origin of his name to which he replied that he is half-Iranian.
Simmonds went onto say "It's a shame because years of TV appearances have obviously taught the kid how to make the most of a voice pretty much like several other boys of his age and how to fool many of the viewers of a TV talent show into believing that he is an otherwise totally inexperienced performer, but he has killed any chances he may have had of a career now. I hope he enjoyed his performance at Michael's memorial and will hold onto the memory of having been asked to perform with Michael at his London concerts because that is it for him. End of! Period! Kaput! Dead as a Dido!".
However, Simmonds continued "I hope he proves me wrong and goes onto become as big as the man himself but I doubt it. I mean, I have nothing against anyone of Arab descent personally but I don't want to hear about it and neither does America. I mean, when was the last time that a large enough number of people in America showed their support for anyone with an Arab name?"
When asked about Simmonds' comments, Shaheen responded "Maybe my heritage can be a catalyst for change and acceptance, and I can use it and my talent to become an ambassador for world peace and harmony across races and religions through the medium and power of song" in his usual naïve, inexperienced, ordinary 12 year old schoolboy way.
