For a brief time yesterday there were reportings that several racy photographs of Miley Cyrus were on the internet and several reported seeing them but that they "didn't look right".
Today, fans and attorneys for the family are checking into the subject but the pics disappeared after a very short time.
"Unlike those pics awhile back that were authentic and mostly taken from Miley's MySpace account plus a few by Vanity Fair, these were apparently a complete fraud as anyone with a computer can create", stated a family spokesperson.
"By the time we got the report and checked it out, they were gone."
A few fans of Miley's who say they DID see the photographs say that the person placing them on there did a bad job and that the "body" was of an "older woman of about 25".
"She was clearly no 16-year-old, especially Miley."
"Others claimed the mysterious photos were a parody or joke that the person placing them on the web thought they could get by with, and they probably would have if they had called it that", stated one attorney for the family. "But he or she apparently panicked and pulled them off in a very short time."
"However, even the story that they were on there in the first place may just be a rumor. Of course, now somebody may try to come up with one themselves and get some fame by saying they were a "parody"."
"Who knows, they may get Billy Ray on there today", joked one fan. "I guess this is the internet version of The Flash Mob!"
