Elm Street, Chicago - Freddy Krueger, the famous serial killer from the Nightmare on Elm Street movie series is to get a makeover.
Krueger was released from prison last year after spending four years incarcerated at San Quentin for "Dream Invasion"
"It's time for a change" Krueger said "I was looking in the mirror the other day and I realised I just wasn't getting any younger. The burn marks and scars - they're for teenagers, not for a man of my age. I look like I'm going through a mid-life crisis" He says laughing. "I want to settle down now, meet a nice girl, have a couple of kids, relax in front of the TV."
When Krueger was asked about his career invading teenager's dreams, he said that was all over too. He'd done his time in prison and it was time to move on, to let "someone else" take the terror reins. "You know, I need to think of someone to pass down my business too. I was thinking Fred and Rose West but I'm not so sure about the couple thing, I think this business is more of a one man band, you know? There's a nice young man from Soham in England called Ian Huntley - he's at the top of my list to take over the reigns at the moment, but we'll have to see."
Krueger was approached by the producers of the hit television show Extreme Makeovers - and agreed to join in. The transformation is to start on 1st June and will continue for three months. Krueger's appointed doctor says he'll be doing a "major transformation", starting with a skin graft, veneers, a hair transplant and pectoral implants to "beef him up". Krueger will also be put on a strict diet and exercise regime. And let's not forget a much needed a manicure on those 8 foot long razor sharp fingernails.
"I'm looking forward to it" said Krueger with a smile "after the make-over, I'm thinking about doing romantic comedies - Owen Wilson style! I think this is just what I need!"
Freddy Krueger's episode of Extreme Makeovers will be shown on HBO on 1st October and Britain's Living TV on 1st November.
