Following the publicity and singles sales success of the track If U Seek Amy, Britney Spears has decided to release a new single which does not feature on her latest album. The new song is aimed at Britney's seven to fifteen year old predominantly female fan base who she says she wants to 'empower' with her music.
Britney's publicist Fanny De Spleigh said last night that the original plan had been to release another track from her sixth studio album Circus, but following the success of If U Seek Amy, based at least in part on the phonetic interpretation of the title, they wrote a new number.
See U Hen, Tea Anyone? is a song which seems to encapsulate Britney's new raunchy approach, and will undoubtedly raise even more controversy once the video is released. Insiders claim that in it Britney recreates the scene from Basic Instinct that propelled Sharon Stone to fame. Again and again. In slow motion.
Not everyone shared the public's enthusiasm for the single. After seeing the video, Sir Cliff Richard said he thinks Britney has left herself wide open to criticism on a number of occasions.
