Fresh from celebrating her part in Slumdog Millionaire oscar landslide, its star, the model-turned-actor Freida Pinto, has signed up to star in Woody Allens latest film, "Hangdog Hotel Room", Vanity reports.
Allen, himself basking in the glow from Penelope Cruz's statuette for best supporting actress for her turn in Vicky Crista Barcelona, has asked Pinto to join Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins on his new project. Naomi Watts has also signed on for the as yet plotless movie, which will be shot in London sometimes this summer.
When asked about her conversation with Allen, Pinto stated, "It was a little strange. He was mostly asking about the age of the Slumdog actors children and how young do women marry in India."
Rumor is that Miley Cyrus received a call from Allen about starring in the movie but her dad hung up on him.
The new film is said to be Allen's latest attempt to get out of his usual story line and will follow Allen's Whatever Works, a dark comedy about a botched suicide attempt in an old hotel room.
