Mark Lowton, owner of TheSpoof.com, has issued a warning that top writers are reported to be squandering their points on inappropriate flashy clothing.
Lowton says "Most writers are not socially aware and seldom see the light of day so it is not surprising that poor fashion choices are being made."
"Wide brim hats and matching canes particularly should be avoided" he cautions.
Lowton says it has been brought to his attention that several clothes retailers frequented by dapper spoof writers may have been duped into accepting TheSpoof.com points as collateral.
"Let me make myself clear, TheSpoof.com points are not and were never intended to be redeemable for cash or cash purchases.""
"If I was a retailer I wouldn't believe everything these guys say."
