Auditions are now underway for a replacement for Carol Vorderman, erstwhile presenter of Student favourite, Countdown.
The shortlist is now of actress and the voice of Penny Crayon, Su Pollard, star of 'Most Probably not actually haunted' Yvette Fielding, Konnie Huq from Blue Peter, and Judy Finnegan. It is alleged that Richard and Judy may well take over the programme altogether, and squeeze a number of lifestyle items into the numbers and letters games as well.
Front-runner for the position is Su Pollard, who is weighing the offer up against Pantomime in Rhyll, which will pay roughly the same, but only lasts for a month.
Boris Johnson, the Major of London is said to be in the hot-seat for the auditionees. All the blonde leader told us was 'Crikey, Cripes, Crumbs, um, err, more bins and buses for everyone. Crikey, Gosh, phwoar'.
