American Idol Shocker: Fantasia Barrino's Secret Twin

Funny story written by Panndyra

Somewhere in Texas, USA --

Last night, American Idol fans were shocked for four main reasons.

  1. Why was Paula Abdul wearing a flower that was bigger than her head?
  2. How come John Stevens got booted off before BIG BAND week?
  3. Is American Idol really this boring this season?
  4. Doesn't Fantasia Barrino look a bit like and definitely sound a lot like Chris Tucker?

The last reason is what caused this story to be written. From the first week of the competition with the final twelve this reporter noticed that there was something different about Fantasia Barrino.

This reporter mentioned it to her husband. He said, "Yeah. I've been noticing this, but I wasn't sure. Doesn't Fantasia Barrino sound like Chris Tucker when she sings?"

Now, the judges have compared her to Aretha Franklin. They also thought that Ricky Henderson [Remember --Hercules, Hercules!] and Justin Guarini were talented, too. It's still amazing to some that Paula "Straight Up" Abdul can keep a straight face and tell some of these warblers that they 'owned' their performance.

Regardless, this reporter argued with her husband and said, "No. Fantasia Barrino sounds like Macy Gray. Any similarities between Fantasia and Chris Tucker are ridiculous."

Well, after a hearty bet and a few more weeks of really listening to her sing as well as watching the "Rush Hour" movies again, this reporter concedes that yes, indeed, Fantasia Barrino sounds a lot like Chris Tucker when she sings.

Don't take this reporter's word for it, however. When she asked a friend of hers in a chat room, "Doesn't Fantasia sound like Chris Tucker?" said friend said, "OMG yes LOL!"

So, Watch American Idol and see for yourselves. And, as Ryan Seacrest says, "Vote as many times as you want to."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
