Albuquerque, New Mexico - After serving three days of a ten-year sentence for attempted murder against the Roadrunner, Wile E. Coyote was released from prison on Friday.
To everyone's surprise, Governor Bill Richardson pardoned the popular cartoon celebrity for no apparent reason. Critics (including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton) complain it is a blatant attempt by Richardson to win votes as he runs for president.
The coyote, who upon his release from jail simply went by "E" (which few people knew stood for his middle name Ethelbert), was leaving the maximum security facility when he was suddenly and tragically struck on the head by a falling anvil.
