Quebec - (Ass Mess): Split Beaver magazine, the official organ of Canada's National Hystery Society, has nominated singers Celine Dion and Shania Twain for the top prize in its Worst Photographed Canadians contest.
The magazine is said to be soliciting votes for the country's tackiest and most over-exposed citizen in a new publication co-sponsored by Latin American quarterly The Brazilian.
"We're aiming to restore some sanity to our international reputation here," said Deborah Morrison, the Hystery society's president.
"Our seamier side has ong been hidden in a long-runing whitewash to spare the feelings of our monarch Queen Elizabteh after both Princess Margaret and the old Queen Mum were done in oils and hung out to dry.
"Time now perhaps to take a look at some of our home-grown more villainous characters and how they've morphed to shape our destiny."
Tough competition for in the first anual running of the contest has seen internetbookies Aintgottaprayer.com offer odds of joint 6/4 favorites on Dion and Twain.
The results will be made known in August this year and the winner will feature in the magazine's centerfold display.
